PATHWAY TO SUCCESS

With the Western Suburbs Magpies no longer a stand-alone team in the National Rugby League competition, the journey local players must take to play rugby league at the highest level has changed.

Wesern Suburbs Magpies new motto "Pathway to Success" reinforces the important position the club continues to provide. The Magpies are Macarthur's, Liverpool's and the Southern Highlands, local representative team, and strive to develop local talent into National Rugby League standard players. The Magpies have provided sporting opportunities for the Western Suburbs Districts since 1908, and more recently the Macarthur region over the last 25 years. This local knowledge has enabled the club to fullfill the unique requirements of the area.

The Western Suburbs Magpies currently field three sides in New South Wales Rugby League (NSWRL) competitions.
- NSW Cup (Opens)
- S.G. Ball (Under 18's)
- Harold Matthews (Under 16's)

Junior Players in SG Ball and Harold Matthews are all local residents of the Western Suburbs or Group 6 districts. Many of these players continue into the NSW Cup team or to the Wests Tigers. Players that excel at the demanding NSW Cup standard may be picked to play in the National Rugby League or National Youth League competitions for the for the Wests Tigers.
