On Saturday 24th, the Western Suburbs Magpies Old Boys returned to Lidcombe for our clash against the Sea Eagles - and what a show it was! Attendees enjoyed back-to-back wins in the rugby league, with the Jersey Flegg kicking things off with their one-point victory. However, if this nail biter wasn’t enough, the NSW Cup clash proved to be a close, see-sawing affair. Thankfully, the Magpies managed to snatch victory from the jaws of defeat in their final game of the season with a runaway try in the dying minutes.
Our club also ran an activation alongside the rugby to create an inviting atmosphere for locals to come and enjoy. Inflatable games, face painting, business stalls, and the opportunity to meet past greats were available, and we wish to thank everyone who came and participated. This activation built on the success of our previous Harmony Day community event in June.
We were pleased to see a healthy crowd made up of both casual and longtime supporters, and we look forward to success both on and off-field in 2025. Keep your eyes peeled for an announcement on memberships for next year!
