Western Suburbs Magpies Rugby League Football Club Ltd (commonly known as Wests Magpies)
is one of the NSWRL foundation clubs. It was established back in 1908 alongside North Sydney,
Eastern Suburbs, South Sydney, Newtown, Glebe, Newcastle, Cumberland and Balmain.

In the year 2000, the Wests Tigers were established as a NRL Joint Venture with the Balmain Tigers.

As of today, the company Wests Magpies Pty Ltd  (which is made up of 33% WSDRLFC
and 66% Holman Barnes Group) are majority owners/shareholders of the Wests Tigers NRL Franchise.

The name of Wests League Club at Leumeah was born out of Western Suburbs Magpies move to the Macarthur area in 1987




The Wests Tigers NRL Name/Brand and Logo are controlled trademarks of the ARL Commission,
hence they CANNOT be re-named or altered by WSDRLFC.

Today the Magpies participate in the NSWRL and provide a Pathway to Success for footballers of all ages from the
Liverpool, Macarthur and Southern Highlands to play representative football
for their district whilst aspiring to play at the top national level with the Wests Tigers.

We do this by providing district representation teams for the Wests Tigers Macarthur JRL and CRL Group 6 district areas in the following NSWRL age group competitions. 

Similar to that of Newtown Jets, we also embrace our heritage and retro standing in the game by hosting Senior KOE NSWRL matches at Lidcombe Oval

WSDRLFC is the Company and operating entity of Wests Magpies RLFC.

A General Manager and two x Operations Assistants work from the FC office located inside Wests Ashfield Building.

WSDRLFC facilitate NSWRL participation in partnership with Wests Tigers and run day to day Operations, the planning of Events and generating revenue via sponsors and Merchandise.

Wests Ashfield was established in 1955 to Support the Western Suburbs Magpies and propagate Rugby League

In 2020, Holman Barnes Group acquired the operating Assets of the Balmain Leagues Club Ltd.
This includes Tigers Sydney Markets Club (Flemington) and Future Balmain Leagues Club site at Rozelle.

BTRLFC remains a separate entity and is not controlled by Holman Barnes Group.

Holman Barnes Group provides a grant to BTRLFC  to assist in the running of Balmain Tigers Junior Reps Teams who have a pathway to Wests Tigers.

BDRLFC (grass roots junior footy in the Inner West) remains a subsidiary of BTRLFC.

Wests Campbelltown Leagues Club Involvement
Wests Campbelltown Leagues was established (by Name) in 1987 when
Wests Ashfield Leagues purchased the former Campbelltown City Kangaroos Club which originally opened in 1974.

In 1996, Wests Ashfield Leagues Club and Wests Campbelltown Leagues Club
became separate entities.

Wests Campbelltown Leagues Club is no longer involved in the
boards or day to day operations of HBG (Wests Ashfield), WSDRLFC or the Wests Tigers.

Wests Campbelltown Leagues Club do contribute to Rugby League
in the Macarthur by providing major sponsorship of the
Wests Tigers Macarthur JRL and Country Rugby League Group 6 JRL. (Grass Roots kids Footy)

They also provide assistance in the form of a club grant to assist
in the running of Western Suburbs Magpies Junior Reps and
make available club facilities to host pre and post season functions and events.

Wests Tigers Macarthur Junior Rugby League (formerly Western Suburbs District Junior Rugby League)
Wests Junior League (Grassroots junior football in the Liverpool and Campbelltown LGAs)
has been separated from WSDRLFC since 1996.

Wests Magpies and Holman Barnes Group have no involvement or control in their decision making.

They are a company with their own constitution currently under administration of the NSWRL.

In late 2018, Western Suburbs District Junior Rugby League was renamed to
Wests Tigers Macarthur Junior Rugby League to be better reflective of the
geographic location in Sydney and demonstrate connection to (and benefit from)
the Wests Tigers Brand.

In August of 2021, the NSWRL announced the formation of the NSWRL Macarthur Conference, a combined
competition comprising both the Wests Tigers Macarthur JRL and the CRL's Group 6 competition. Due to begin
in 2022, the new competition structure will see a combined conference system from under thirteens to first grade,
with the open age groups to be comprised of existing regional clubs. More information on that here.
